REMINDERS:
‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

AGENDA:
1. Poetry Vocabulary #1 Notes
  • Click on the link to review the vocabulary words while students take notes or create their flashcards

2. Multiple Choice Monday
  1. Have student volunteers hand out the 5 Steps to a Five Books
  2. Students will table up with their groups to answer questions 1-10 on pg. 1, Passage 1: "Nobody Comes" by Thomas Hardy
  3. Students may NOT WRITE in BOOKS!! Each student must document answers on his/her own paper and note vocabulary they do not know.
  4. Every answer must have an explanation- why did you choose this answer? What context clues make this the better choice over others? Is there any unfamiliar vocabulary?
    • EXAMPLE: The answer is A, personification. In the first stanza, the speaker refers to an agile cat, passionately pursuing her lover. This reference implies the object of her desires has some feline animal instincts, but also deep emotion which is an example of personification. Therefore, the answer cannot be b, verisimilitude, or c and d which occur in the last couplet, not the first stanza.
  5. Please collect and count 33 books, and student work.
